About 3:30 pm today (Sunday) I saw 3 Snow Buntings on the gravel road that runs
between the McConville Horse Barn & the Guterman lab greenhouses (parallel to
rt 366) on the eastern end of Cornell campus.
I don’t know where the other 97 snow buntings went.

That’s good news! I was driving around the fields in the area of Mecklenberg
and Reynoldsville today and only saw a Northern Harrier and an American
Kestrel. But no field birds, not even sparrows along side of the roads or in
the fields!

I just got in from Seneca County and had several flocks of Horned Larks, 2
of which also had Snow Buntings. I saw no large flocks of buntings, but was

I would not be surprised to find many field birds (buntings, larks, longspurs)
dispersing farther South in search of available food resources in more open
fields (or even seed feeders in the middle of the forest – John). In the recent
sleet-covered and heavy snowfall-covered areas, many
