If you are doing MTP Required on the trunk configuration, then the region will be checked between the HQ phone and the transcoder which probably is G711 and will be preferred over G729. If you change this to G729 between HQ phone and transcoder, it will try to use G729 but probably will drop due

David If my understanding is right, MTPs also have a DP that they can be associated to ( I don't have a UCM in-front of me now). So I believe you have your MTP in the HQ Region which is talking G729 to the CUBE Trunk Region. And so with MTP its a G729 Call. But with XCoder, which doesn't happen

Fellows, CUE issue. HQ- CUCM, BR2 - CUCME/CUE. Call between both sites is g729. Call to BR2 from PSTN rings, then goes to VM on CUE, hears the annunciator to leave a message and wmi works. Call to BR2 from HQ rings, does not hear annunciator but goes to VM and wmi works. Wondering why
