I have set up my home lab and bought the IPX BLS. I have started with volume
1. Can I use the IPX pstn configuration file on my pstn router (2811)? Do I
need to make any configuration changes? Is there any home lab best practise
to emulate IPX lab?

I have my home lab also with 2811 and run IPX labs.
You can use IPX PSTN config , you will just need to correct E1 numbers to
match your physical connectivity.
i.e: PSTN port E1 0/0/0 is going to HQ, E1 0/0/1 to BR1 and 0/1/0 is going
to BR2.
In this case check IPX config file for P

If you are planning to go for CCIE voice, first complete studying CIPT1,
CIPT2, TVOICE and CAPPS. These will built your foundation stronger. You are
not required to appear/pass all those exams. After then, as suggested by
ccieid1ot, go for CCIE Voice Written.

If i change the voip dialpeer to include codec g711ulaw on the CME
the call can be put on hold, and recover the rtp stream. (I can hear the other
side again)

Hi Leslie - I scribbled some notes down based on some labbing I done a few
weeks ago with the call path in both directions and both codec and phone
protcol do seem to come into play for set up and supplementary services.
In supp services testing I ensured no xcoder was available as i presumed
this
