If you are using IPX with the newer labs, this is a confirmed issue with
VMWare and CUC.

I have noticed the same behavior on my setups as well. Not sure if that's
the anticipated result - just know it's not an isolated behavior...
Anyone else have there same results and a "fix"?

You could look at Imagicle's "BillyBlue" -which used to be Stonevoice.

I've used Billy Blue before and was happy with results - albeit I didn't do
much with it as customer just needed very basics.

I've tested at RTP 3times - which is based on proximity to where I live and
the fact I'm programmed for Eastern Time zone. Consider the time
difference from your home location...the last thing you want is your
internal clock to be out of sync (little NTP pun there).
RTP just moved their lab from
That may not be necessary...the question may not state you have to set a
system prompt. But yes, if it does state that phones should look similar,
then setting the system message to "Your current options" would be needed.

Lab5 has SiP trunk to Backbone and when dialed the PSTN should see +number
of HQ phones that is calling. Even though mask is set I can't get + to show
up.
Any ideas?!?

Yes - I think that looks good. I agree with the access-list 100 statements.
One thing I am doing is saving the switch config BEFORE running the
auto-qos macro; copying out the mls qos statements and class-maps /

I would add that on each phone that you want presence, make sure to select
the presence CSS and also set the userID for phone device and line DN.
I have not entered the CtiGw application userID before. Without it, i've
been able to do everything. I'll need to look at that a bit closer.

In both LAB#4 and LAB#5 of the newer 5-lab series, there's an NTP section
that I don't think is being fully addressed in the DSG (Solution Guides).
Here's the question:
Configure the UCM, Site A / B / C gateway to synchronize their clock with
the clock source on the backbone NTP server. The IP

The new 5-lab handbooks are somewhat in "beta" mode I believe as I've ran
into some minor errors and such. But the biggest issue is that I'm finding
the solution guide for Lab#5 is not available (the estimated timeline for

I've noticed this lately while loading up the newer 5-lab self study vRacks
sessions. Once a phone (say Ext 2002) is defined in Unity Connection, if
the PSTN phone calls that extension, the greeting is heard after the
appropriate no-answer timeout and you can leave a message. However, NO MWI

I've purchased the new Five-Lab package which for sure has some good
information in it. However there are only 3 detailed solution
guides...where's the other two and when does IPX expect to have those
completed?
