A somewhat different and impartial view, from an existing CCIE
currently doing the Voice track.
With the backlog in available lab seats it is surprising to see advice
encouraging people to continue with the current exam. Why would one
want to add to an already overwhelmed system? The idea with is

Scenario is testing redirection to unity
BR1 is H323 GW.
I am aware of the 'FF' problem and the well know workarounds. However
with H323 AAR and SRST there is an issue with the currently well know
workarounds. None of them provides a working solution for both AAR and
SRST WHEN GW is H323.
2 test
You can do the same on the route pattern if needed.

> Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Calling
Just browsing through one of the well know books and it mentions of
this feature and ccm 4.1
Does anyone know how to configure it for 4.1?
Thanks
An interesting observation below, not sure if anyone has an answer.
Scenario is CME integrated with Unity.
When transferring calls to subscriber 2 the subscriber should be tried
at an external number before going to VM.
This does not work and the call goes to VM. Unity does say
transferring call
Have noticed when testing CME 3.3 this integration will always result
in G711 calls across the WAN, when a call is received from the PSTN
and redirected to voice mail.
2 questions.
- Does anyone know how to prevent this and get the call to transcode,
without looping every call back through a voip
ast busy (basically gateway
> redundancy will not work).

Anyone got scenarios where we would specifically use this param.
Thanks
Goal is to block calls from international type numbers when in SRST / H.323.
I have a method of doing this but it is a little long winded and requires
visibility of the ANI.
Wondering if any one else has worked out a quick way, based on voice
translation profile / COR / ANO.
The approach where o
Further testing has has show the results are somewhat unreliable regarding
the corruption with Redirecting number.
Redirecting number still gets corrupted is the safest approach.
Either of the other 2 methods present more reliable options.

Where do you get those values from?
I do not agree.
My understanding, with some assistance from others, is safest bet is QOS
SRND. Clearly that does not list cRTP values. But they are easy to work out.

*Layer 2 (bytes) + L3-4 (bytes) + voip sample (bytes) * *

Trying to get a call from PSTN into BR1 redirected with AAR back out to HQ
and into Unity.
This scenario works when configured with MGCP.
Normal AAR works fine between BR1 and HQ.
This H323 AAR to unity does not work.
There is NO H225 activity to setup the 2nd call out to the PSTN, from CCM.
A

Following on from previous message.
Test 12.4.3j on 2821.
Scenario
SRST mode.
alias from XXX2 to XXX1 cfw HQ-VM
This scenario still has rubbish Redirect IE.
Test show best to leave the isdn outgoing ie redirect off the ISDN since it
also seems to break VM-Integration.
Test run on 12.4.3j on 2821
Debug ISDN Q931 on SRST rtr shows some positive info
Redirecting number IE is no longer 0xFF rubbish.
It is being interpreted by CCM and forwarded to unity.
Does anyone have 37xx rtrs to test this on?
Perhaps worth checking before doing anything too fancy.
Anyone g
Can Mcast MOH be applied to conferences?
My testing show lack of IGMP activity from participant phones.
Test was done with MOH to conf service parm set to true.
Cheers
Apparently the above config does not work.
That is to say MLP and class based shaping are not compatible
Config could look something like one of the following.
policy-map NO-GOOD
class data
shape blah blah
virtual-template x
service-policy out NO-GOOD
or like this
policy-map NO-GOOD
class dat
The QOS SRND has an entry for FR, MLP and others.
There is no entry for MLPoFR.
Does anyone know what the 'correct' value is?
Is it 13 for MLP + 2 byte FR giving 15?
2 bytes is about 6% difference with 1 * g729 + cRTP @ 50pps
If you refer to the following paper it seems to cast doubt on the ac
