You can as well use dvd+rw-format -blank=full to apply full blanking
procedure to DVD-RW media. I personally actually recommend to format for
Restricted Overwrite instead. It's simply more prac

i am now able to write in multiple sessions. i had to do a blank=all
using cdrecord-prodvd to do it. but it looks like both sessions need to
be an isofs.
now i am trying to write multiple tar archives to the dvd media as multi
session and it is failing.
my first command:
# tar cvf - /tmp | growisof
i am now able to write in multiple sessions. i had to do a blank=all
using cdrecord-prodvd to do it. but it looks like both sessions need to

Hello.
I have a 'HL-DT-ST' 'RW/DVD GCC-4240N' '0111' Removable CD-ROM combo
cdwriter in my laptop. The cdwriter is certified for 24x burning, but
cdrecord only lets it burn in 4x mode for most cdbrands. I have tried
5-6 brands of cds, and te poorest quality brands is the ones that it
will alow to

Note that dvd+rw-booktype uses *undocumented* command picked by Ricoh
from command range *reserved* for manufacturer

What's a "compressed backup"? If you mea

dvd+rw-tools fully support DVD multi-sessioning and if growisofs fails,
then you most likely have wrong expectations:-)
