I have set a CD-ROM (COMPAQ CD-ROM CDR 8402B) and a
CDRW (LG CD-ROW CED 8083B). Both are atapi devices so I used ide-scsi
module. Although Mandrake 8.0 boots ok I have feeling that something
wrong. I haven't checked the list lately but it seems that ide-scsi is
broken on 2.4.0. I

On reading the messages on the list, I've noticed that it seems that ide-sci
is somehow broken on 2.4.0.
My worse nightmare happens when I try to read a audio CD. gtoaster and
gcombust freezes pretty good! I can't open a new window and the only thing
that works is alt+ctr+backspace

What is cdrecord-ProDVD? Where can I get more
info about it?

I wonder whether someone could tell me if the DVD-RAM by creative can be
used on linux.
I guess to get it working I would have to buy cdrecordpro.

I have no problem to use readcd to create a file from dev=1,0,0 but when I
try to write the file to a cd, the following happens:
[root@localhost cdsource]# readcd dev=1,0,0 -w f=mathblaster.iso
Capacity: 1 Blocks = 2 kBytes = 0 MBytes = 0 prMB

media without a problem but when I try to burn an image this is what I got:

I would like to return my ide drives (dvd and dvdram drives) back to atapi.
The first thing that I did was to remove devfs=mount hdc=ide-scsi
hdd=ide-scsi from lilo.conf. After booting, Mandrake 10.0 cannot assign any
device to the drives.
Then I did:

I am trying to burn a dvd+r using k3b. No matter what I do the same error
message always comes up: No space left on device. I have tried different
medias: DVD+R, DVD-R. The funny thing is that it works with DVD+RW and
DVD-RW.
The device is GSA-4102B, A112.
Any ideas?
