Yes, it's temporary, until cleared by the orthopedic surgeon.
Probably about 3 months, depends on the patient.
Until you are completely healed, i.e. all the muscles etc. are healthy and strong again, there is a significant risk of dislocating the new hip. That would require going back into surgery
