While programming I sometimes like to snack. Till now, I've used cereals as my snack food. Honey combs, corn puffs, etc. Would there be something that's 'better' as a filling energy food while thinking? Energy boosts can come from other things but it's the filling that's really important sometimes.

Check into NiMh batteries as a step between nicad and LiIon.  They work great for my digital camera.  You can't charge them and expect them to hold a charge past a few weeks, but since you're going to have a charger nearby, you could always keep a spare beside you.   They don't have a "memory"
