Correct me if I'm wrong, but..
Noah's Ark is where the animal pairs come in.
I thought the Ark of the Covenant was just a box that held the 10
Commandments. (Wasn't that what Raiders of the Lost Ark was about?)

Yep. Back in aught-2 there was a big push to save internet radio. There were
a couple bills struggling to make it through congress that would have
exempted a lot of the little players. The FCC backed law wanted to have the
broadcasters go back and retroactively pay per listener per minute.

Couldn't watch the show for more than a few minutes when it was on

make this more interesting!"

I would love to see The Running Man redone. The idea behind the story

Yea, while I liked the Running Man movie, the short story was -way- more

I've heard that the rate actually dropped to within reasonable levels thanks to recent legislation or FCC stuff. Can't recall the exact figure etc but a quick google should bring up some good results.

Not sure. If I set one up, it will be a win2k server.
I did find out that you are responsible for paying royalties. I don't
know how many of the stations are actually paying but I'm sure it's
pretty expensive.

This CF community is really good at sharing code snippets or parts. But
there just doesn't seem to be a wealth of just simple little finished stuff
being poured into the community. I remember back to my Hypercard days, the

Yep. But I know that I've got little things here and there that I'm working
on for myself. I'm putting together a little database to track what movies
I've watched. I've got another one that I'm "working on" that is a database
of car specs and a flash remoting interface for the pocketpc. If it ever

I think some of this phenomenon rests on the fact that a lot of CF

Yes, except that this drops you off at the www.macromedia.com home page
instead of taking you to the ColdFusion home page . . . I think we just had
this discussion . . .
Another thing - Response time on page
I think you touched on something that plagues the CF community. We're all
about "best of breed" or at least "I can do it better". Other languages and
technologies have massive libraries of free, finished apps. And it's not
just complicated things like forums, CMS, knowledge bases, etc. It's little,
After some thought on the train this morning, here are a couple of bells and whistles I'd like to see made easier by Cold Fusion Server:
cf_metadata type="mp3" - Access to mp3 meta data (size, bitDepth, id3 tags.)
cf_metadata type="jpg" - Access to jpg meta data (size, color depth, copyright, IPTC
Aren't there several wbstores like cfstore.com that list tags and
applications for sale already?
I found a great web forum there for about 150US that had all the
features I'd ever need.
There's also the Macromedia Exchange already existing for searching tags
and applications.
The best practices
There have been some good suggestions here, and I would like to add one more to the discussion. I think we, as the community, can step forward on this one. What would be very helpful for me, is a site (HOF maybe?) that consolidates best of breed CF concepts. It would be nice to go someplace and f

seriously, an excellent constructive suggestion. If Microsoft is thinking

The problem is one of market penetration. What you need to do is provide a
free/cheap version of CF that has most of the functionality built in that
would allow web hosting companies to be able to offer PHP/.Net/CF as a
solution at the same price AND be HAPPY offering CF.
