Probably not, though I think it would depend on the size of the dog. My wife
and i have friends who have had small dogs killed by coyotes, which are very
common in the canyons in San Diego. My dog, on the other hand, is 80 lbs of
pure muscle and she does the chasing and killing.

"lankier" with taller, spindlier legs, and they tend to look much leaner
overall.
