i know, right? most people get my name right... "Charlie"... it's not that
difficult. But sometimes they misspell it as "Asshat". It's almost not
even the same, but they keep making that mistake. The mind boggles.

I had to go back and re-read this ... that's funny. I do that sometimes
myself. There's people I've emailed dozens of times, and they know better,
yet no matter what, they spell mine wrong. I don't know if it's truly just

In Ubuntu, UAC feels less intrusive, is faster (why is Vista such a slow
dog?) and the implementation is cleaner, IMHO. In Vista, UAC feels like it
was dropped on top of the existing OS.

Well.. I do not know about power consumption, but this is what I was told:
If the TV will be in a dark room, i.e., no windows... Plasma
If not.. then LCD.
I got an HD LCD tv three months ago and I have not noticed any unusual
changes in my electrical bill.

What do you plan to do with it? Are you even concerned about power

days after I turned off UAC and a week after I got the machine I had a

Yeah I agree, however if you switch to ubuntu you will still have the same
problem as Windows Vista. In fact you will have a harder time switching it
off in there.
I thought you might be smart enough to switch your firewall on, when you
leave the office many don't though.
