I note a particular lack of mention given to Iran and Syria as
countries supporting terrorists in Iraq and other places that may or
may not be lumped in with Al Queda. I also notice the lack of other
groups associated with Al Queda but are not of the 'same name'.
This whole thing reads very much

given how much we read, this is a life saver.

hmm not sure. When I say internet access is plentiful, it's in the form of
wired connections. Think college computer lab -- that's what it looks like.
It's more convenient to use your iPhone in your room though, sure.

ya, that is my thought. Anyone who buys them because they don't know better
may learn *something* from them, or if not, it's a little money in the hands
of Goodwill, which is a small win anyway.

Goodwill does a big book sale around here once a year. If you donate
them you can claim the deduction, and the profits from their eventual
sale will go to a good cause...
I doubt you are going to find anyone willing to buy them for an amount
more than the tax deduction you will get.

dBase II?

Was going through some boxes in the garage today and found a stack of books
that I'd already culled outtitles including Foundation Actionscript (for
Flash 5), Turbo C++, Fusebox 4 and Flip, etc. Stuff that will probably never
be useful ever again. Seems odd to throw a book away, don't thi

Ao I am looking at low cost ways to call back to the US while there.

Somewhat less convenient but as a plan B/reassurance, I can tell you that
you will find that Mexico is littered with internet cafes and almost all of
these have phones you can use as well.
On a deliberately off-the-beaten-track safari we had there a few years ago
we found only one tiny tiny town
I haven't seen SIPGate before. I did look briefly at their site and
it looks kinda like Vonage or Skype, but aimed as businesses? I've
used Skype overseas before and it's worked fine. SIPGate I have never
heard of (but maybe I've been under a rock).
I don't know what type of cell you have, but
I am curious if anyone has used SIPGate in conjunction with Google Voice?
I am on a business trip to Mexico soon and will have internet access in the
hotel.
My thoughts were to use sipgate to connect and then use Google Voice to call
back to the US.
Thoughts? Pros/Cons?
Another service or a bet
