It was shown at CES this past week. I am holding out that this is positive.
I really really hope so.
BUT
Rumored Vista Media Center only because of the microsoft DRM stuff. So that

Some things I see.
The son: You make the deal, you get to "deal" with the consquences of
breaking that deal. Although I doubt public humiliation was in the deal. Oh
well. You get what you get. Maybe if this kid was more "productive" at 19 he
could have saved up for his own car and insurance. Hell,
2600 is a real nice card. You don't need an extra soundcard as it has one
built in and hooked directly to the HDMI connector, which is really a DVI
connecter with an adapter for that card. Thats all well and good if you are
only putting the sound to the TV or a HDMI capable receiver. If you have an
Vista home premium has media center, so your good to go right out of the
box. If you like to dabble and tinker go with a SageTV, or a Beyond TV box..
Heck if your feeling saucy and don't want to pay for windows, build yourself
a mythTV box. :)

Yep agreed, my HVR1600 does a great job too, but OTA HD will only get your
craving wet.. Getting HD from a cable or sat receiver is next to impossible.

HD on homebrew HTPC's is a mess right now. All sorts of issues. Check
Hauppauge's website for current capture cards. Content protection is messed
up so there are HD channels that you can capture and channels that you can
record, based on the content flag. Its ugly. On my explorer 8300HD box I can

great HD. DVI output is also digital and offers the same resolution as HDMI,
you can get a converter cable to HDMI. You should be able to play blueray

Erika,
We just bought a 2 processor version of SQL2005 through Dell. Not many
"deals" out there.
If you are looking to use it with a web server, instead of the enterprise
version you can also use the workgroup version with a per processor license.
It is alot cheaper..

Yes a MP3 sampled at 128 you can EASILY tell the difference. Bump the
sampling rate to 256 (using a GOOD encoder) and I would be VERY HARD PRESSED
to find anyone who could tell the difference between a CD and an MP3.
