I think this may not be a joke. If it is, it's very elaborate with
corroborating stories done up in 2005.

But now with your new job, you can finally afford that repair ;-)
I went for a way longer than i should have driving my Corolla with
a broken interior door latch
my 98 beetle interior latch dosnt work
iether does the latch on the remote.
so every time i need gas i need to open the rear hatch & reach my arm
in under the rear tail light & pull a wire to release it.

I have a special hose for that. It has on one end a metal deal with a metal
bearing in it that moved about a half an inch up and down. I put that end of
the hose into the gas can and the other into my trucks gas tank. I move the
hose up and down in the gas can until the gas starts flowing then let
But unleaded is healthier for you.
Reminds me of the Oklahoma gas credit card... a hose and a stick of gum!

My 1993 Toyota Corrola has a toggle activated gas cap door. can't open
the thing from outside.
Our 2003 Odyssey also had a cap toggle, of course, it also locked the
left side sliding door, I I can see why that'd be a good feature to
I stopped stealing gas when they phased out leaded gas. Never could
figure out how to siphon unleaded.

Well that could mean a couple things. Either you bought a locking gas cap,
or in the case of my ex-wife's car, a 2005 Kia Sorrento, the cover for the
gas cap is actuated by a button on the inside of the car. So you do not need
a fancy high-end car to get that feature.

Nope. Course I'm in Georgia... lots of SUVs and trucks. The cars I mention
are Ford vans and trucks (F150, 250 and a 350) and I just recently drove an
Impala which didnt need to be unlocked or opened from inside. Also rented a
2006 Dodge pickup which didnt need to be unlocked.

inside the car. I thought this was pretty universal these d

That reminds me of the MASH episode where Hawkeye and BJ kept replacing
Winchester's pants to make him think he was gaining...then losing...weight.

I'm going to buy a gas can and start adding a little bit to his tank
each week.
He doesn't have a locked gas tank? Or does he not lock his car? I just
don't hear about vehicles that the public has unfettered access to the
gas tank anymore.

I'm getting ready to hatch my own extended April fools joke. I have a
coworker who's obsessed with his gas mileage. I'm going to buy a gas
can and start adding a little bit to his tank each week. Then, after
he gets from 20mpg to 30mpg, I'm going to do the reverse and get him
down to 10mpg.
