I did this recently as well. I used xampp to install apache with the lampp stack and then installed cf8 on that. Apache 2.2 has a few small changes that threw me for a bit. I blogged about it here : theanticool.com/blog/. Xampp is really sweet. Nothing like installing a server in 3 minutes.
