Nobody does that better than Mr. McCain 8D

I think a more moderate Republican that can distance himself from the
current administration will give the Dems a run for their money.
Especially if the Dems. Besides the Dems have to prove they can field a
decent candidate.

Well, i think the waters were already poisoned, and the Dems will win the
next election almost without question (again, this is just my crazy
opinion).
The problem is, if they elect a raging liberal, then we are looking at
another stretch of bitter division and shaky leadership. The majority of

Or Joe Biden. But I'm skeptical that this will happen because the
extremists control the Republican party now - specifically the
religious right. They won't let Mr. McCain in unless he sells his

I agree. I would love to see a grassroots campaign.

unfortunately its these 10-15% from both parties that control the
purse strings and provide a lot of the rank and file. So the moderates
have to kow tow to the radicals if they want to get a even bit beyond

The only people who hate moderates are the extremes in both parties. The
10-15% in the far right who currently run the Repubs, and the 10-15% on the
far left who are currently killing the Dems.
A successful run by a middle
he other guy. This came from both repubs and demos.

Yes, but this is why Mr. Bush shouldn't have been re-elected. He had
made many mistakes and, while Mr. Kerry was an unknown, when it's the
President you have clear dead wood.

I think every one of us can agree on that.

Now that I've had a moment to think about it, Gruss is right. I did vote for
Bush in the last election (though not in the one before it). I'm not ashamed
for doing so as I felt that Kerry was not the person I wanted in the White
House. I'd have preferred that there was some other, viable candida
