Yeah, having to run hard-core apps in a VM wasn't fun until I got this
i7 with 4 gigs.
A late 2008 laptop with 2 gigs was ok for occasional forays into
other-os land, for testing and what not, which was all I needed it
for.
Sounds like Mama would be better off with a dual-boot... Editing

You definitely do not want a VM for audio/video editing.
Also is really dependent on the CPU. You'd probably want at least a dual core
to run it with a decent speed. Also you'd want to make sure the CPU supports
virtualization so you're not doing software virtualization

I'm surprised you can't just enter a license key for Win7. Maybe have
it ask for the previous XP or whatever key, the way the CF installs
worked. Ah well.

they wanted over 400 bucks to re-install the operating system on the
