I joined CF-Talk before MD ran it (97?) and I suspect I joined CF-Community
within days of it's creation as an offshoot.

That was a different one I was at that one to...
I was working at Uhlig/Welcome Link for short while. That was the last job I
had since I went on my own.

I'm still seeing a bunch of CF work but it's not like it use to be. We are
still deploying new CF/Railo apps into companies that didn't have any CF in
them before. Some is also for companies who came to us seeking "CF talent".
Doing a bunch of Mura stuff now. Deploying on top of Railo by default
Seems to be mostly legacy jobs with companies that have had buy in. My
"Main" job is CF but they are moving to Groovy. Side stuff is all
PHP/CodeIgniter stuff. I like developing... what language I use tends to
not be an issue. Nowadays it seems that the server tier is less and less of
an issue. Yo
Took me a day to get multiple offers for dev work.
The rates have flattened it seems but the market is still pretty strong.

Quite possibly. There are no where near the same number of jobs for CF devs
compared to five years ago. And a significant portion of those are projects
that only maintain legacy apps, or conversion project to .Net or Java.

No, this list got started when the complaints about OT posts on CF-Talk got
to a certain level. CF-Talk was set as the tech only list and this as the
not-really-tech list. Never worked out 100%, but worked well enough.

I think that what's happening here is what's happening with CF in general.
Its a shrinking market. I've mostly moved fr
This list got started from a meeting in Kansas City? Where at? And why
would sprint fire you for going?

I think I have been on this list since it started... I have only went to one
meeting and I think that is the one that got this started.. here in Kansas
City. Was actually fired from Sprint for going. It has dropped off but I
still enjoy it and I use CFTalk when I need some help still.

I think there are still a lot of lurkers like me, but you're spot on with
the regurgitation. For me, the reason I stay is for the occasional
non-political posts, which are few and far between. Thank jeebus for the
