Update:
The so-called new/upgraded server setting wizard FAILED without any err msg or
the like.I looked at the winXP/NT services, CF app srv is running, all other
cf related services are not.I hope I'm not speaking too soon.
And I'm caught between reboot the machine and wait for another HALF AN
FOR THE BENEFIT OF EVERYONE ELSE:
DO NOT TRY MY INITIAL PROCESS OF CF6.0 UPGRADE TO 6.1 BELOW;
INSTEAD, ACCEPT ALL THE DEFAULTS;
then, play with changing CFIDE to wahdjkskdsd288sd you like at your own risk,
I've done that before with CF5.0.
Silly me, why not use the the proven method.

P.S.
No. Nothing will be messed up by doing this.

Of course NOT, Patrick, that's why, I asked, whatCFIDEdirHERE, whatever828e3sd
directory?
With CF5.0, I did but had to mess around to get the JVM to be intelligent enough
to find it, instead of CFADMIN component contains all this sort of conf data,
and have ANY cf-related service request talk to
to
whatever you want.
