major ick. The thing I was thinking was ... are your children young
enough to flush one of those little Happy Meal toys, Zaphod? Not sure
if it would cause bubbles, but it sure would cause a clog...
Let us know what happens?

I have nothing really practical to contribute, other than a story.
We moved into our newly built house on a Saturday. Sunday evening I heard a
weird gurgle when the half bath toilet flushed.
Monday morning we woke up to about an inch of water on our brand new
hardwood floors. Every time we ran wa
You could actually have a clog in the air vent above the toilet. If
you're not getting the air flow up, you'll have problems with clogs.
But, I second the idea that you should check into the roto rooter
option. We have to do that about every 18 months because we have a big
ol' maple tree right over

I've been trying a snake for the past 30 minutes or so, and with a 50'
long snake, I can't seem to get anything. It's confusing, the shower
and the tube in the same bathroom both have drains lower than the
toilet, yet neither one of those backup and both contribute to the air
bubbles coming up the
no, there's no chance of cross contamination. It's a bathroom sink
about 3 feet away from the toilet. The air bubbles are coming from
the throat of the toilet also.

I had a similar issue. My issue was that I accidentally threw some paper
towels into it when I was doing the mirrors in the bathroom. When I flushed
it was too late and that is when the stop-ups would occur. After plunging
for about 10 minutes I finally got the towels into the septic tank. Lesson

If you have any cross-action between your septic water and your potable
water, stop everything and call a licensed plumber immediately.
