Welp.
My MX700 mouse fell this morning down a flight of concrete stairs.
I was just holding too many things in my hands, and of course the mouse
would be the thing to fall. I guess it could have been worse, since i
was holding my girlfriends

I was just holding too many things in my hands, and of course the mouse

Thinking about it - when you're not using your mouse at night/weekends,
it's in the Dock - but will your computer be switched on? Most aren't
So, since your PC isn't on, then no charge through the USB, so no mousey
charge :)

I occasioanlly use my MX700 on my laptop - take the dock and use it for
the tranceiver - but when I'm "done", I drop the mouse into the dock so
it doesn't slide onto the floor - sometimes this includes "potty breaks"
so it would charge at that point :P

No, it's been said in other technical forums that the USB port power
alone is not enough to recharge batteries in some cell phones and
recharge other items as well as power a transceiver.
My P800 USB Cradle can't charge the cell phone while it's sitting in the
cradle. I would need a different US

You can actually leave the adapter off the USB cable and the wireless
functionality of the mouse will still function, you just won't be able
to recharge it.

I bought the Microsoft Bluetooth solution, and was less than impressed
by the performance. I also ended up changing the batteries in the mouse
VERY regularly from my point of view, perhaps a little longer than every
tw
Check into NiMh batteries as a step between nicad and LiIon. They work
great for my digital camera. You can't charge them and expect them to
hold a charge past a few weeks, but since you're going to have a charger
nearby, you could always keep a spare beside you. They don't have a
"memory"
