those are the people who are reading the news stories that portray
this as a crime problem. In fact it seems that the justice system is
being co-opted there to perpetuate old hatreds, if half of what I read
about this is true.
It is also true that stuff like this happens all the time, which makes
none of us have been there, and don't know the honest facts of the
case.

At least you think they do have a need to fight back.
There are some that think what happened was absolutely just and fair.

I don't deny that they are both glory-seeking assholes. Still, I don't
know if this would be getting the publicity it is if they were not
involved. Of course, if one of the six were not a Dallas Cowboy, it
might not be getting any publicity at all, as the families might not

I think it's the disparity that is upsetting people. Nobody is saying

As for the kid that got jumped, depending on what witnesses say, he
probably should be charged with inciting a riot, or at least
disturbing the peace.
The idiot in the pickup yesterday, dragging the noose, will probably
be charged with everything they can find on him, including failing to

Now, I don't personally know who is telling the truth, but it's
apparently a little more complicated than black thugs vs nice white
boy who was persecived as racist.

the kid went to the school dance that night ;) Also remember that the

Amen Jerry, I agree with you..
Simple fact of the matter they almost killed someone. Racist (which
isn't against the law) or not.

Here is my feeling on this.
A group of people, for whatever reason, ganging up on one person and
putting the boots to them are guilty of a serious crime.
Period.
And they should be prosecuted for that serious crime.
The _penalty_ for that crime should be mitigated by the reason for the
attack,
I've been following the story. MPR had an interview with one of the
mothers, who said all her son did wrong was demonstrate "under an
all-white tree." Now granted she is his mother. What is really
interesting is thhat the construction of the sentence implies that she
does that that was wrong. Or ma

Can't believe that segregation is still alive and well in some parts.
*shudder*
The students felt they had to ask for 'permission' to sit under a tree?
