There are better splitters and worse splitters. The typical splitter that
most people buy is just that, simple. And as Jim said, each split adds
resistance and reduces the signal. If you ha
two TVs. The cable modem works fine
and both TVs get great pictures (both in regular and High-Def).
You should be fine.

We run ours through a splitter, cable modem and cable box - doesn't seem
to effect our speed that we notice
