Let me not forget that I started on a local BBS called Digicom. After a
few months, they added the Internet option. It cost quite a bit more
per month, so I never paid for that option.
The BBS had links to images that people either uploaded or copied from
CDs. Actually, most of the CD content o
I remember my first 386SX with a whopping 16MB of RAM. To run ACAD, I
had to install a math coprocessor. That was my first real computer
upgrade.
My high school had a lab of TRS-80s (Model II and III, maybe a IV).
Only four of them had dual 5.25 drives and printers. We had to rely on

I think I was still using a Kapro when you were playing with your

Depends on what OS they use. Setting up OpenBSD still requires running fdisk
(don't know about Free and Net). And it doesn't even come with the menu control
the later DOS versions came with, it is all CLI.

Youngsters also don't know much about fdisk or having to create boot
floppy disks just to load Windows from a CD.

SET and DEVICE commands in the autoexec.bat and config.sys files.

While we're on the subject of old music, I don't suppose anyone has a
digital version of the first Violent Femmes album. I own the thing on tape,
but have no way of digitizing from tape. (It's fair use to have a digital
copy as long as I own some sort of copy, right?)
