Wow, do I ever feel stupid.  It was the output stage that I had my problem with.  It's fixed, that join query runs fine. This is why I stay away from joins - they're so complicated that when I cant get them to work, that's all I concentrate on. ;-) Thanks a bunch for the help, Ma
