Hi,
I use Dreamweaver's "Clean up Word HTML" function and it works fantastic. It
automatically discerns if the HTML doc was created from Word 97 or Word 2000
and wipes all the MS specific tags and CSS out.

there's a perl script on CPAN that claims to do this. i haven't used it, so
i can't speak for its effecitveness, but you might want to give it a try.

Dave Raggett's HTML Tidy has an option for cleaning up MS Word
2000 junk, and it can do lots of other things as well. It's

We've written a word 2000 buster cftag - which converts files specifically
from word - converts lists, paras, most formatting, etc. but is bespoke for
job - our job required that the first line of the word document was bold for
example.

Dreamweaver (gulp) has a clean up Word HTML feature which kind of works.
Get the trial version and give it a try.
