Ok let's go back to my original error.
Only by entering 127.0.0.1 directly instead of localhost did I get the
connector to do anything.
Obviously though, this was not the solution as it seems to have caused
errors later on.
Why can't I connect to the Jrun server that IS running using Localhos
I had a similar problem a while ago, although it says "localhost" it's not really using localhost (it's using the static ip of your box).
so, if you have any firewalls, ipsec rules etc.. disable them and run the connector executable again. You can also check the log files to dig more info.
