IT might be the fuel line placement or the carb may need insulated from the
intake(heat shield or Phenolic spacer).

I too experienced a heat problem where my elky would stop when I sat at a
light on a hot day. i put on a composition 1" spacer and it cured the problem.

I had a problem very much like what you are talking
about, I would drive my car, and when I would park I
would get a very strong smell of gas, my car would be
very had
Before you do that make sure you have enough clearance between hood and
aircleaner.

I've been redoing my interior this summer which includes a bucket seat and
console swap into the velle. I just put in the floor shifter and rigged up
the cable. It
there is an adjustment on the floor shifter. which is 1/2" wrench or 5/16"
