Thanks for the tip, Dan. Do I have to set it with or without vacuum advance?
Another question. I have the idea that it runs way to lean. If I block the
air intake with my hand for about 90% it runs much better. I have tried to
adjust it with the screw on the carb, but it doesn't seem to make any

Disconnect and plug the hose that connects to the vacuum
advance canister when setting ignition timing.
Yes, it definitely sounds like you're running lean.
Have you checked for vacuum leaks? I don't know how
expensive vacuum hose is for you but you might want to
consider fresh hoses.

The dimension between the hinge to hood bolts is less on 1968 hinge then the

Most automotive
carpets are supplied by only afew companies: Collins Aikman; HP
Pelzer, Reiter Automotive, Guilford Mills, and Lear Masland. My guess would be
Guilford Mills but it could be any of them. I have never heard of a
"distributor" that I know of - I think everyone gets their

Did you try asking them for a type instead of auto carpet? Try asking if
they have the loop type (in our cars), or the cut pile which is what most of
the aftermarket cheapo carpet for cars is.

I recently posted aquestion
on dying seatbelts. I would also like to clean and oil all the
buckles. I don't want to experiment with them and cause damage so can
anyone tell me how to dismantle the buckles. They are buckles from a 68
Chevelle. Thanks for any help...
Craig
Thanks, Paul. What did you clean them with? Mine feel like they have years
of spilled coffee and whatnot in them.

Wayne, I read in another post you had a custom
panel for behind your seat on your 65 elky. I have a 64 and would like to know
how you made yours. Behind the seat on my car just doesn't look finished. It's
just like something is missing and this is what I have been looking for. Thanks
,
Are you looking for carpet that exactly matches
your carpet you already have or are you looking for speaker box carpet?
Crutchfield sells carpet specifically for covering boxes. http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-vYEqP4mU596/ProdView.asp?s=0c=11g=746I=264BLACK++
Hope that helps.
Rodney.

Only one problem. I put in two VIN's and each of them came up wrong, so
don't trust the site for real accurate data.
