If you can't find the thermostat housing with the fitting, later model Chevrolet (maybe trucks) had them, you can get a spacer from someone like http://www.flatlanderracing.com/mezierenecks.html for $25. It essentially lifts the water outlet housing up about 2" and has threaded holes for fittings.
