Thanks Kent... I appriciate it. I would love to have the rallys on my car for a sleeper kinda stand point, but need to compare the weight compared to the Alumastars. These chevelles are such pigs I need to strip weight anywhere I can. Mikey - Original Message - From: Kent Lewis Sent:
Mikey,
Just received my 15 X 8 rally Wheels back from the
painter today. Using the bathroom scale, they weigh right at 23lbs
each (bare with no rings or caps).

Well I did it tonight. I was trying to tune my 71 to run
elevens through mufflers on pump gas. I did run slicks but the car is street
legal otherwise. I changed the jets in my 850 double pumper from 80s to
82s all the way around and blasted from steady 12 teens to a string of 11.80s

DAR 9000 is an acrylic enamel that can be sprayed as an air dry product.
It can also be used with a hardener, DXR 80. DXR 80 is a urethane
hardener. The hardener also contains gloss resins which give it a
deeper, shinier look. It is a very good, although outdated product.

A guy sent me an email with the following messages:
I have a 1967 Chevelle with what appears to be the original VIN tag on the firewall but the paperwork on the car and the VIN # say PILOT24 what is this car?
Anyone have any idea what this means??
Thanks

Hello!
So, I started my car yesterday. It started. It idled. I turned on the
headlights, and it died.
It does not start with the key - now turning the key doesn't even
make the solenoid click!
I started it with a remote start switch and a jumper wire to supply
power to the coil. It ran fine.
I rebuilt a 396 325 hp engine for my 69 Chevelle
SS last summer. I used heads off a 1973 Monte Carlo 454. Over the
winter, while starting the car I found that it was idling rough and backfiring
through the carb and exhaust. I know that my plug wire need replaced and I
have a new set
I've got two sets of double hump heads and a high rise intake for a

Jeff,
I found a great deal on a 350 from a local Team Chevelle member.Not
what i was looking for but it's ready to roll. The period correct 327
will have to wait.I need to keep the El Camino on the road.If for any
reason the deal doesn't go through I'll drop you a line.
Thanks for thinking of me.
Lowest cost shipping for large heavy items I have found is a company called
Forward Air. They only ship airport to airport so both parties will have to
go to a airport with Forward Air terminal. I sent an engine from CT to FL
for $150.00 and all the ground trucking companies I called were at least
I have heard of using a sheet of plastic over the frame before you put the
body on. This protects the newly painted frame from overspray. Then when
done with body you pull off the plastic. I have not done this myself but
sounds like it may work.

Hi Rich,
dar9000 is a enamel, but with the hardner it is a urethene I beleive, if the
hardner is not used, if you ever go to touch something up, it may wrinkle the
old-or original finish. and it seems to dry slower without the hardner. it
also seems to flow out nicer with the hardner- at least f
