Due to a tire being slashed I am in the market for a
set of new front tires for my car. Currently I have
BFG T/A's on it 235/60x15 front and 255/60x15 in the
back. I am a fairly agressive driver but I am on a
budget and need these to last a minimum 3
Hey Clint,
Did you ever put AC in you car yet this year?
Just wondering. I was going over to check out Old Air tomorrow if they areopen. If not I will try to go Friday.
I originally was going to put the ac dash from a donor carin my non ac 66 but can't seem to scrounge one up with controls and
Greetings all, I am brand new to this game. Just bought a 70 Malibu that was
partially
restored about 4 years ago. It was also partially Cloned at that time. Not
really sure how
I feel about that but think I will go with SS upgrades minus the SS emblems.

An index page should come up at http://www.sofnet.com/~k0az/ then
you can select
the various shots. I will repost this as I had left out
the ~ in my original post to the list.
Sorry about that.

043440 is nothing more than the production number at the plant in which it was built meaning that it was the 43,440th car to roll off the line in the 1970 model year. If you really want to know the exact time it was built look for a combo number/letter combo, something like 05D the numbers are
Not sure what that number is, but it's not a build
code. A build code will look like this 12C- Twelfth
month, third week. 01-12 are the months, A,B,C,D are
the weeks.

My TH350 is leaking a bit of fluid where the tranny cooling lines go into
the trans. I tried tightening them but there is still a leak. Does anybody
recommend Teflon tape or will it just melt? If not teflon, is there anything
else I can use to help seal that gap?
Thanks,
John Nasta
Thanks Tom, Your info below set me straight.
My 043440 turns out to be 04B 440. 2nd week of April of 70. Also, from your
links
I was able to tell I had also mis copied the
BDY number. I have now corrected it and found it to match the VIN. Car was built
at
Arlington Texas. Thanks to all.
I bet you have a slight crack in the flared end. Teflon wont help that. It
is just as easy to cut the end off and reflare it. I had a Chevy truck that
I had to do it on. My 2 cents.

I forgot to mention that mine, a 72, is not even a Malibu, just a plain ole
Chevelle that was bought back then for basic transportation. Although not
sought after by many, they are some of the rarest because most was used,
wore out, and junked. Luckily I found a an untouched survivor.

Thanks Dale, You hit it right on the head. I simply got the numbers copied
wrong from the ID plate
on the cowl. I am going to try to find the build sheet this weekend but my
hopes are not high on getting
it. The seats were recovered nicely about 4 years ago with new vinyl
headliner too. So I am
I would be surprised. The tranny lines are brand new.

Welcome to the list Mike. As you can see from my signature that I own a
