Clint;
actually it is also called Frigic 12. great stuff. got 20
lbs on the truck now.
Ok, I guess i mis understood what they wanted Thanks for the correction. Monroe load levelers , yes that does sound familiar, but with my short term memory loss, anything is possible, Thank you for setting me streight. I'm still learning and this is the place to do it.
Hi gang,
Since the passing of the holidays, I have now jumped
back out in the garage in high gear. I keep telling
myself "90 days to Hooters nite", and I'm determined
to get my '66 painted by Spring. I still have quite a
bit of bodywork to complete first though-

Is this FR-12 you're referring to more commonly
known as Freeze 12?

I'm a

the old cars. No oil change, no gasket change, "NO OIL" change. big difference

Sounds like you have some Monroe load-levellers.
True coilovers alleviate the need for the stock coil springs.

Clint, yes, the coil springs are there, but it's been almost 3 years since I've looked under there and from what I remember the scocks were yellow in color (can't remember brand) I hope this helps, I also think they had a coil on the shock also. This was installed about 8 years ago and as I say
Does your car still have the coil springs on the
rear?

Clint it's coil over for sure. What brand ? I'm presently about 300+ miles from home and have been for the past two years. I'm lucky I still remember what it looks like.
Bob,does your 71 have coilovers or load-leveler
shocks? It sure sounds like the latter.

Any idea what the original purchase price
of a basic two-door 1968 Chevelle Malibu would have been? I can't seem to find info on that. Just a
ballpark would be great.
Thanks again.

I had bad wheel hop when I used to race circle track
with a-bodies. What ALWAYS fixed mine was replacing the upper rear control
arms bushings. The first time I replaced one thing at a time
with that being the last. Fixed it right up. After that car
was destroyed I built another and had
I also have a 71 El Camino, w/ coil over shocks and a front and rear sway bars. It's an automatic . The front end was completely rebuilt several years ago and now I have about 135,000 + on the Elky. Not a bit of hop , never did have any. Have driven the Elky from Mass. to Florida to Michigan. f
I would personally try no hop bars or Southside machine lower control arms to move the IC further towards the front of the car. This usually helps aslong as you have a decent pair of shocks out back. Mikey - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2004 9:4

Just to let everyone know, that a trans cross member for an automatic works
perfectly for a 4speed for the year 67.
