Thanks. It definitely didn't come out as well as I had hoped (especially for
what I paid for the bodywork), but it is fun to drive. Has lots of power and
a nice musclecar sound. Now I just wish we could roll gas prices back to
1969 (I'll even settle for 1979).

They do feel good when you get to put them on the road after sitting up
for a while because of what ever repairs or resto's have to be done.
Once on the road all the problems and busted knuckles seem to disappear.

In my case I wouldn't go that far. There are still some problems (like the
whole paint job has to be done over) but I'm just going to use it as-is for
a while, park it on the street, and maybe re-think it next summer. Hopefully
by then things will have settled down. Right now anything that
Hi John,
It's good to hear you and your Elky are still together! It's funny how
muffler companies always claim improved gas mileage from their products but
we all know better - the better they sound the less mpg we seem to get!
Have fun!

Thanks Herb and everybody else.
Is anybody going to E-town tomorrow? As it turns out, I actually can take
the day off. Would be nice to see some of the guys.

99% of the time if a part only fits 4-door models you won't find it in the
aftermarket.

If it's a Canadian-built Chevelle, the body tag (trim or

Speaking of MPG, any recommendations for a bed cover? I would probably get
more MPG. A Pro-Net is not an option since the b/u lights are in the
tailgate door. I'm thinking a soft cover rather than a hard one. I prefer to
do as little drilling into the body as possible. Also, I need something
Hi everyone!
I'm kinda wanting a serpentine set-up on my 283
small block without accessory holes in the heads.
Anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced
setup for this motor?
MARCH wants around 1800.00 for theirs. That
price makes me sad in the pants!
BTW, my new 64 Impala SS droptop

there are no accessory holes in the heads. Even a very old engine needs
brackets and pumps.

I think GM saved money by using the holes in the heads
to mount stuff from. Less brackets, less weight, less $$. I think
that happened around 68-70 and I think the short water pump went away at that
point. I am going from memory and that seems to be fading faster than my
hair at this point.
