Krister,
You are right, that chrome channel should hug the glass tight all the
way to the top and wrap around. It should not flare out. There is
adhesive on that channel that bonds it to the glass. I used some
spray to dissolve the adhesive and then a small scraper to get under
the chrome and s

It used to be quite a secret for obvious
reasons – to thwart theft and aid in recovery. With so many people doing
frame off restorations of 64-72 Chevelles and other models in those years, the ‘secret’
places are becoming known to the enthusiast public. As mentioned by some others
here, n

The same thought crossed my mind. With all the fraud out there in the
world, I'm sure someone would be able to recreate a title, and claim
ownership. I would urge caution as well. Thanks Clint for covering that
point.

If I were paranoid,I would be careful giving out VIN location info over the

Garry, while I am paranoid to begin with, I am very suspicious of a VIN
that has been partially removed. After you find it, make sure it wasn't
stolen or salvaged at one time.
I just did a "frame-off" on my 69 and found it also on the firewall,
passenger side, near the heater fan. You probably hav
The 70 Nova I have dissasembled to restore has it stamped on the firewall

My 70 had one stamped into the firewall near the heater/air
conditioning Hole. The one on the frame is on top of the rear frame
member. The body needs to be lifted to see it from what I remember.

I know my 90 Blazer has a relay mounted on the firewall right in front of the
driver above the master cylinder. I bought the car for parts and the owner had
to stick something in the relay to energize it to start it. Probably needs a
fuse too but I dunno where its located.
