Sounds like you need to change the throttle cable to one for a
four barrel. The two barrel cable is too short and when used makes
pedal low to floor and won't open all the way. sounds like may need to
check wires and clean sockets for parking lights. Hope this
helps

I've had my manual choke cable hooked up for probably a
month or more now and it has already become really sticky. It's easier (but not
exactly easy) to pull the choke on and much harder to push it to turn it off.
Today I resorted to opening the hood and shutting it off at the carb. I have

Both the 049 and 781 oval port heads are very good.
So are the 063's. All with respond very well to pocket porting, blending the

Mike,
they are oval port heads. Thanks for the offer on the intake but unfortunately I
can't use it. I went to Mortec and made a comparison of the two that I have
and they are almost identical to each other with the exception that the 781's
are a newer version. I know that the

I had not, really. I remember seeing a "Overhaulin"

I think your problem is when you
said "Auto Zone." Sounds like a bunch of bull to me. The only way I could see
the throttle and the parking light effecting each other would be the wires
messed up under the dash. I would pull the lens off, clean the contacts, put in
a new bulb, first. As far
Anything is possible. I would
question the throttle linkage. I put a newer 350 4bbl in place of a 283 2
bbl in a 67 Impala and had the same issue. The angles were all wrong with
the throttle linkage to the newer carb.

Hi everyone, can anyone help me?,I purchased a used car recently, the

You can do what I did. I got an LED module from a GM SUV (late '90's Blazer
if you need to tell the parts man) and took it apart and inserted it above
the rear window. Instead of mounting it on top, I slotted the stainless
trim and the light bar is inside and hidden when off.

That's true,Trooper, and Hooker will continue to lose market share if they
don't get their heads out of the sand. We consumers have more exhaust system
options now than we've ever had,,and it's only going to get better.

I agree Clint, But if we are waiting on people like Hooker we may be waiting
a lng time. In 35 years they still haven't listened to there consumers
and made a header to properly fit the big block chevelle.

I agree. The only headers I could make fit on my '70 were Hedman 1 and 3/4
tubes but they fit perfect and have stayed in place and tight since Day One.
They seem to make nice low-end torque with my 402. I had to re-route the
starter wires through some heat shielding but that's to be expected.
Let's face it,guys. Lowered cars are here to stay but the aftermarket has
been slow to build headers to address this,,especially with manual
transmissions. BB cars are particularly vulnerable because of their larger
tubes.

John, I've been waiting for a reply to your
post on your new heads. Are they oval or rectangular ports? I have a
nice intake for rec. port heads. A 3933163 alum. factory GM intake. With
snowflake. Correct for 68/69 396/375 or 427/425 COPO.

It's good to hear they are working with you. I found that Century
Performance is selling the BB3 for $285. I'm going to give them a call
today.
Let me know how it turns out for you. You can keep us "Posted", LOL

Larry,
For what it's worth, I bought a set of the Sanderson long tube big block
headers. Had a clearance problem on the passenger side of all places. It
wasn't touching, but far too close to the lower a-arm frame mount. So
close that at idle or under torque it would have rubbed the frame.
If you have Edelbrock heads and use aftermarket head bolts (ARP) with
the Hooker/Jethot headers on a BB the head bolts hit the header flanges.
I had to grind the flanges and have the headers recoated.

Mike,
Thanks for your input. Like you, I would just weld
them up and keep going. I enjoy welding anyways. I think I will go ahead and
order a set. To me, fitment and performance gains is the most important
considerations.

Larry, For what it's worth, the only set of
Sandersons I have installed were on a Nova small block and they did exactly what
you said. One of the tubes pulled loose at the flange.
I didn't call Sanderson, But just pulled the
header and re welded it. This would not stop me from buying the pro

Hi,
The 300 style bezel is what you need, it frames the lens
and doesn't have the tabs for the horizontal strips. I plan on doing the same
when I do my 67 Malibu. Watch eBay, that's where I found mine.

I've always heard Jet Hot's product and service is
top notch. My concerns are with Sanderson's customer service. It's been several
years since those complaints were mentioned. Who knows, maybe they've corrected
any customer service issues by now.

Surprising! I bought a set of Hookers for my 454 with a 8-71 BDS blower
from Jet Hot. I had them coat the headers and have had no problems. Jet Hot’s
service has been great and they did everything as planned!
