Thanks for all the input!
No pools of fuel.
There's still fuel in the bowls.
The acc squirters works just fine.
The carb is a divorced choke carb but it's never been this
hard to start before. It all began sometime during my tuning
to get rid of my hesitation problem. (which got better)
I got one of the KITS, have to watch the pedals, the one I got were a little
misaligned and the bushing did not really fit.

If you have not decided on what 4 speed to get, ask many questions. The rear end gear dictates your choices unless your wanting to change that as well. Many auto cars have highway gears and are not friendly to M21 style gearing. I've been down that road with a 3.08 and it is not an enjoyable start
I did the swap on my 72 ss you can get all the parts from Ground Up
Restorations... great prices and fast shipping

gear or anything on

shim mine up and calling it good enough. There's really no way to tell if
it's any good while it's on the

Year One has everything you need. If you have a floor shifter now you may
not need a hump.

This time of year, the choke should be wide open. I like to use an electric
fuel pump by the tank to feed the mechanical pump. The mechanical pump acts
like a regulator. I turn on the electric pump first before I start the
engine. Tip; run the electric pump with the engine off and adjust your
