Can anyone recommend a garage heater? I live in northern Iowa and it is a
cold winter this year.
It is going to have to hang from the ceiling and be powered by electricity.
(no natural gas available)
Don't plan to run it every day but do want some heat on the weekends when
working on

Atleast we had a white christmas this time but now I am ready for spring.
As far a garage heaters go, I install alot of Reznor heaters in shops, garages,

that goes on top of a 5 gallon tank. Ours is the two burner model. We turn that

For years I used the Mr Heater in my attached 2 car garage and it did the
job, but then again West Texas is not as consistently cold as Iowa. I
haven't tried it yet in the new garage, probably not going to be near as
effective but it should take the chill off.So if you need a heater
I live near Saratoga NY and use a Modine Hot Dawg unit, 75kBTU for my
new 24' x 28' garage (insulated). I'm going out to paint the inside now,
and hope to get some repairs done on the Malibu this winter. I got the
unit from:

Hey all and happy holidays!
I have a question about replacing the windshield on my 1967 Chevelle Malibu
2 door hardtop. I have just finished pulling all the old clips, and cleaning
out the old sealant and prepping the window channel, and am wondering how to
proceed. I have heard various people
I used the sealant when I did mine. You will need the sealant and the
manufacturers recomended primer for the glass. Its a one shot deal so you will
need some help setting it in place. There is risk of ooze out inside if you lay
the bead too thick. I have a couple spots along the bottom of the
Looking for Mr. Fred Aldrich, aka Chevelle Engineer. Seems that only one
page of his web site is still good but email address is not. He registered
on Team Chevelle but has never posted and email address there is incorrect
as well.
Anyone knowing how to contact him please have him contact me a
If the window is not installed correctly and is too close and tight to the
metal frame you risk cracking the glass going over irregular surfaces (rail
road tracks etc)
Most glass shops would only charge around $50 to install the glass - I would
call around and find someone who knows older
On my '66, I actually called AutoLite and they had a
guy come out and do it, and install the studs for the
clips. Then again my ride was pretty bad off when I
got it, so I didn't want to add to the pain by
breaking a windshield or not setting it up correctly.
AutoLite came right to the house and

The easy way is the glass shop. I do all my own, but I was taught by an expert.
The clips have to be in place before the windshield is installed. If you are
missing studs you can pop rivet or screw the clips in place. I like to always
start with new clips. Dry fit the windshield. Put setting
You would be better off having it installed by someone that knows glass and old
cars, I have experience in installing my own glass and I'll tell you when the
budjet allows. I pay for it!! Just make sure they know how to install the
chrome correctly. I had to get a claim with Safelite about
Thanks. I just ordered the Mr Heater Item #1729. No more cold days in
the shop.
