I don't have a specific torque spec for a starter mounting bolt (but I'm in
Canada right now on business) however you can look at the included chart and go
by the bolt size, grade and lubricant type to find the proper torque. Eh.

I'll be replacing a manual steering box with a power box in a 1968 Chevelle, it

I bought the ceramic pads because "they were the best" and I hate
them!!! They grab more than the rear drums and warped my "premium
damped" rotors. Now I need to find time to pull it all apart again, get
the rotors turned and throw the ceramic pads out and put OEM stuff back

The answer to your original question...
Measure your manifold vacuum from the lowest point on the carburetor or
anywhere in the intake manifold. A healthy engine should read a steady
needle from 15 to 22 in/Hg - subtract 1 in/Hg per every 1000 ft above
sea level. Long duration cams and late igni

A high pitched whine during cranking, before the engine fires, can be caused
by the pinion and flywheel being too far apart - too much shim.
A whine after the engine starts, as the key is released, is often a result
of the pinion-flywheel relationship being too close.
