I am sure that this has been accomplished before and I am in need of some
tips! I am swapping out my TH350 for a fresh TH400 in my '66 Malibu. Here
are some of the questions I am encountering:
Is there any simple workaround (other than drilling new mounting holes) for
the cross
Is there any simple workaround (other than drilling new mounting holes) for
the cross member locating 6 further to the rear?
If it's like my 69, it will just slide back. There should be more than one
set of holes.
Obviously I need a new slip yoke. Any recommendations for a manufacturer

I replaced the 350 with a Turbo 350 with a 454 and a Turbo 400 in my 71.
The crossmember had to be moved to the rear 6 inches, but in the 71 the holes
were already provided in the frame from the factory so I didn't have to drill.

The TH400 wasn't available in the Chevelle until 67 and the TH350 was 69 I
believe.

Can you please tell me the dimensions of the bolt that holds the rear of the
tranny to the cross member. I went to the local NAPA and they could not find
me anything.
i think it is just 2 1/2in bolts but i dont know how long any help would be
greatly appreciated
