I'm confusied, how do you seat the tube to the block? Lightly tapping on
the wrench?
Yup.. you got IT . You insert the tube into the wrench and slid the wrench
down till it hits the expanded seat/seal. You then use your weapon of choice
to TAP.. read TAP the WRENCH to seat the filler tub
I'm confusied, how do you seat the tube to the block? Lightly tapping on the

i had the same problem, ended up going with a chrome aftermarket dipstick,
has the bracket to bolt it to the exhaust, and if you dont like the chrome just
scuff it up a bit with some fine sandpaper and paint it to match.

Small blocks do not have the same little bracket extending off them to bolt it to the manifold that the big blocks have. The only way to do it is to enlarge the hole a bit. I have the same problem with the one in the 350 that is in my 86 Cutlass. I just never pay any mind to it.

the tube for my 454 is in the oil pan on passenger side. I got a
dipstick/tube from summit. Fits right in and bolts to one of the header
bolts.

On the '69+ BBC oil pan, where is the dipstick located? I have an oil
pan that is supposed to be for a '69, and it fits fine, but the dipstick
tube opening is entirely on
