it may have worked for you but I spun the drum and inner shaft 3 times on my th 350 behind a built 454. Went to a th400 and my trany problems went away but started blowing rearends. as far as I'm concerned th400 is far superior to th350.

Larry, I agree that a TH-400 is the stronger of the two...I just
posted that a built TH-350 CAN survive behind a moderately stout
big-block. I'm not afraid to run 1000hp thru my TH-350...no
trans-brakes allowed at this level.

TH400 is alot stronger than the TH350, it is also physically bigger, utilizes
an electric kickdown as opposed to the

had a built TH-350 in my 69Nova 461CID w/350shot of gas(900+hp)
and never had a problem. I sold the Nova(less TH-350)and freshened
the tranny up and it now resides in my 93Z 383 blown w/two-stage nitrous
Camaro. My TH-350 has over 500
The TH400 wasn't available in the Chevelle until 67 and the TH350 was 69 I
believe.

Can you please tell me the dimensions of the bolt that holds the rear of the
tranny to the cross member. I went to the local NAPA and they could not find
me anything.
i think it is just 2 1/2in bolts but i dont know how long any help would be
greatly appreciated
