I don't think that there is an issue with mixing organic oil. Penzoil & I think Quaker State sell an oil that is a mixture. There may be an issue with mixing brands that use different additives, but that issue applies to organic oils also.

changes it every 15k with a filter change every 7500.

I break in with regular 10-30 oil and then switch over to Mobil I 10-30.
It is up to the individual as far as using 10-30 or some other weight
and brand, I have found the 15-50 good when running hard on drag strip
but for just every day driving with the occasional punch I personally
stick with
I'm sure you'll get lots of responses, but you really need to use a standard 'dino' oil for the engine to properly break-in. The synthetic is too slippery to allow the rings to seat properly. Once you get it broken in, then you can run the synthetic.
