Get the one without EEC if you are not in California. Make sure you get a vented gas cap for it too or you will run into vapor lock issues. The fitting coming out of the tank in the center is your sending unit that feeds the fuel to the engine. Get a new sending unit as well. Tom

My first choice would be to drop the tank. You should be able to drop reinstall in 2-4 hours. If you go with your friends recomendation, I'd add a can of gas stabilizer (stuff usually added before storage) and a full tank of gas to dilute the old stuff. Changing the fuel filter a couple
