I took a closer look at the code and unfortunately disabling printing is not going to help the situation. The thread this is not launched is not the one that's causing smbd to hang. Afshin On 02/11/11 04:33 AM, Marcis Lielturks wrote: Hi! Getting coredump might be troublesome as it will be rea

Hi! Getting coredump might be troublesome as it will be really huge (~33G). Will try to set "print_enable' to "false" explicitly - currently it was not set in SMF and sharectl already reported it as "false" (I assume "false" is default). We were also thinking if there is a chance that a nightly

Even if the binaries were available for download you would run binaries of SMB from 156 on 151a at your own risk. Such a mix and match is not supported. Having said that, I don't think newer binaries are available for public download. If you have support contract for your Solaris Express you can

Hi, Any chance we can get the new binary for smbd from snv_156 for real world tests? The developers might be interested in. Best Regards, Victor P.S. I know the rules of the company I cannot speak of. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org __

Actually you can try this as a workaround: # svccfg -s smb/server setprop smbd/print_enable=boolean: false # svcadm restart smb/server This will disable printing and prevents the bogus thread from being launched. Afshin On 02/10/11 11:22 AM, Afshin Salek wrote: I don't believe there is a wor

There is a good chance that you're running into this problem: 6996574 smbd intermittently hangs This was fixed in snv_156. Afshin On 02/10/11 06:57 AM, Marcis Lielturks wrote: Hi! We have some trouble with CIFS. Two servers (n20 and n30), both configured the same way and running Solaris 11

When that happens could you please generate a coredump and make it available to us (reboot -d)? Make sure you dump the user space and kernel space memory pages. Use the command 'dumpadm' to do so. Since the coredump is going to be bigger than usual make also sure that the dump device has enough
