Florian,
Usually system errors are due to basic stuff like a filesystem running
out of space. Do you have enough storage left on the filesystem to hold
the output file?

yes cinelerra's video output can go to both raw 1394 and dv 1394.
neither of them did work here. however there is one more option,
iec 61883. that worked, as you said, through the camera to the monitor.
unfortunately, the framerates achieved were considerably below 25 fps,
so the video on the scr
excellent! Did it happen to show both timestamp and recording date?
The patch currently is getting the recording date from an undocumented
(at least, not in the mpeg2 spec) packet in the mpeg2 stream, so I
wonder if Canon uses the same thing or has some other way to encode
the recording date in t
did you get this error only for this project?
have you tried with different video source material?
are you sure you did not get any output?
i remember i got some similar error
(however i don't know whether it was exactly the same),
but still the rendered file was o.k.

Hello,
I can't export a movie I did with cinelerra from videos from my video camera.
The settings are: YUV4MPEG Stream, use pipe mpeg2enc -f 8 -o %, for the whole
project.
Occurs an error at the beginning of the process:
int YUVStream ::write_frame(uint8_t**): write_frame() failed:system error
o.k. i managed to configure the screen to be used as x terminal,
following the instructions at
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/NVidia/TV-OUT
essentially, the tv can be used as a separate x terminal or
as an extension of the desktop area (dual-head mode). in either case,

yes i found the 1394 driver options in the preferences,
but switching to them did not change my display,
and the tv screen remained blue, without reaction.
also, the transport buttons are no problem,
but those "camera" "projector" "mask" etc. controls
don't show up elsewhere than in the composito

thanks christian.
now i found k-menu -> system -> configuration -> "nvidia tv-out"
(version 0.4.7). i have no idea how to use that... tried clicking around,
like "tv on", "tv off" etc. but the tv remains just blue.
do you mean i have to use SaX instead of the nvidia config program?

o.k. i connected a dv camera to the 1394 output, and the tv to the camera.
then i could manage to watch a scene from kino (export -> preview)
through the dv camera and on the tv screen. so far that feels really good.
now how do i get the compositor output from cinelerra to the scre

I guess its should be possible to connect a DV camera to the firewire output
and then plug the camera to the TV.
This method is been used at least in other viode-ed
for reference colors and interlacing, i wonder if it is possible
to have the composition shown on an additional external tv monitor?
e.g. connected to the graphics card's s-video output?
i have played around a little with nvidia's x server settings
and could manage to configure the tv to twin-vie
