I once read about that HW was making his own way and don't wants to work
with others on his project. (Something like this anyhow)
So I was not really expecting a melt down for the better between two
projects.
Also I don't know yet what is better in HW version then CV version.
Thanks, Hermann for the very good insight of the evolution of Cinelerra
development. I wonder what are really the main differences that have been
introduced in Cinelerra-CV compared to the most close version of upstream
(2.1?). That might put in perspective what exactly is needed to take

That I don't have. I have only Josepkey's version not installed ...

You can also install Cinelerra 4.2 on Ubuntu from the .debs someone made for
Debian.
I wrote it up here - though I was doing it on Maverick and/or Lucid, and
haven't tried it on Natty and it seems that there are some potential issues

If you are interested, I compiled it and got on megaupload.
No installation is necessary, but not if it all works.

I tried the replace solution and the "make step" finished fine. I don't
try the "make install" step because I try to make it whith "checkinstall"...
