Frans,
In my experience on both Ubuntu and Fedora (32 and 64bit versions), compiling
X264 is a nightmare.
Wish I could see it Georg!

A side note on Fedora 12 if you are on amd-64 and need to use the
proprietary ati catalyst drivers they do not install at all on F 12.
Numerous threads on the problem but no success reported.

Pardon the late answer to your question. I'm just getting back to Cinelerra
after a hiatus.
Generally, I keep video captures or imports to any type of MPEG file (MPEG-TS,

I'm considering an upgrade/new install of Fedora 12 from Fedora 10. Have you
noticed any performance differences using Cinelerra on Fedora 12 in contrast to

Ed,
Actually, your rendering parameter should be fine, since you are rendering from
within Cinelerra. (I had initially thought you were rendering outside of
Cinelerra). I do notice that your bitrate is extremely high. That shouldn't
cause a problem in itself, but I've had crashes when using h

Ed,
I had a similar problem getting the output from my Canon 5D Mark II into a
Cinelerra-usable format. My solution was to reencode the 1080P H264 into 1080P
MPEG-TS.
Here is my tale of woe from earlier this year:

open video editing softwares, so Tom will talk on Lumiera and I'll give a short
spiel on Cinelerra.
And yes, we should hook up Peter,

Thanks to Eric Seigne for the list of packages necessary to build the CVS from
