One of the following:
1) bad dram
2) bad flash
3) bad ios image
4) incompatible ios image with module loaded in router
5) bad module in router
6) bad router
It's one of those things. First thing, try putting a new ios image on the
router. See if that fixes it. If not, try a different IOS
I concur with that. Also, it looks like there will two switches will be in
the lab. So I would keep the cat5 and use it in conjunction with the 3550.
From there I would think of all the different type of scenarios that are
available with two switches instead of just one. i.e., trunking, spanning

I was wondering if anyone could elaborate on lessons learned when studying
for CCIE. What did you do right? What did you do wrong? If you had to do it
all over again, what would you change - especially if someone wants to pass
the first time?
I'd say NLI Study Guide + Boson Test#3 helped me a lot to pass 350-001.
I noticed Cisco Press just about to release 350-001 Exam preparation
guide. Isn't this a bit too late since it'll be replaced by 351-001 soon?
